Will be coming back to the Accrington, Rawtenstall area again this year. I am doing research on the Scholes Family of Accrington and would like to contact any Scholes who can trace back. I can provide info back to 1830 up to l901 on whole family but only little from 1901 to l912. I am sure there has to be family still there.

Hi Susan, I emigrated to NSW Australia nearly 3 years ago to work at Westmead Hospital as nurse. I recently changed specialities and now work on the Renal/urology transplant ward! I grew up in Oswaldtwistle (Banbury Ave) with my older brother, sister and 2 younger sisters. I attended St. Marys and then Mount Carmel. I then went to Accrington N rossendale college.    I am looking for anyone from the "Ann" family, who lived in Oswaldtwistle. I was friends with Greta and Les Ann in the 70's and lost touch before moving to Canada. They had 3 kids, Kevin Melanie and a third child, a little girl. They also had 2 foster children Michael and John. If you are those people or know them please contact me.    My compliments for this web site, I'm so happy to have found it. What I'd really like to know is how many people living in Accrington and area, actually read about Expats. The reason I'm asking is that up to now all the replies I've received are from nostalgics like me who live abroad. I'd love to hear from someone who lives in the area. Do you ever mention the expats in the paper? Regards and keep up the good work - sm_counsell@yahoo.it
