James Ward

EX-RAF wireless operator Mr James Henry Ward, who served in Cyprus from 1955 to 1959, has died in Church View Nursing Home, Oswaldtwistle, aged 78.
Mr Ward, of Whitaker Street, Accrington, had worked at Huncoat Power Station as a turbine operator for 20 years until 1979.
He loved wildlife, gardening and working on his allotment and enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
He was due to be cremated at Accrington yesterday (Thursday) following a service conducted by the Rev Peter Goulding.
