Ian Walsh

COMPANY director Mr Ian Thomas Walsh, of Eagle Street, Accrington, has died in the Royal Blackburn just three days before he was due to celebrate his 65th birthday.
The husband of Bernadette, he worked at door furniture manufacturers Cindac Manufacturing in Church for more than 20 years and for the last 10 owned the company.
He was also a director of his own electrical business of I T Walsh Electricals for approximately 15 years.,
He served his time as an electrician with Rossendale Council and worked for a short time at the Blair Electrical Company in Church, before becoming self-employed.
Described by his brother as a gifted wordsmith, he could complete The Times crossword in under an hour, and also trained and raced greyhounds at Belle Vue and other tracks. He also liked gardening and computers and was a member of both the Canine and Brooks Clubs.
He leaves children Sean, Graeme, Andrea, Catherine and Robert, siblings Marion and Richard and grandchildren.
He will be buried at Church and Clayton-le-Moors Cemetery on Wednesday following a service at Accrington Crematorium Chapel conducted by the Rev Roger Parker.
