Peter Ashburner

FARMER Mr Peter Mawson Ashburner has died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital aged 73.
He farmed for more than 40 years in Baxenden and Great Harwood, living in Baxenden. For many years he lived in Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, and attended Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School.
After leaving university he worked in Penrith, South Wales and Yorkshire.
The husband of Kathleen, he leaves children Sarah and Anne, sons-in-law Peter and Paul and grandchildren Simon and Richard. He was also the father of the late William.
He was cremated at Accrington on Wednesday.
