MR KEITH Briggs of Rockmount, Whalley Road, Altham West, has died aged 70 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Born in Clitheroe, he worked as a HGV mechanic at Castle Cement for 30 years and then changed to driving HGVs, firstly for the Tarmac Group in Clitheroe and then CSH Transport, Blackburn, for about five years.
He did his National Service in the south of England and enjoyed gardening, cooking, travelling - especially cruising - crosswords, wordsearches, DIY and music.
He leaves his wife Monica and children Stephen, Karen, Anthony, Andrew, Ann and Nigel and was also a father-in-law, grandad and great grandad.
He will be cremated at Accrington on Monday following a service at All Saints Church, Clayton-le-Moors, conducted by the Rev John Tranter.
