FORMER Accrington woman Mrs Patricia Quinn has died in a Blackpool nursing home aged 85.

Mrs Quinn was born in the town and attended St Anne’s Primary School.

She lived in Cambridge Street and worked as a home help for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Empire on Blackburn Road.

She moved to Blackpool 25 years ago to be near her sister Maureen and brother-in-law Jack following the death of her husband William.

She worked in a friend’s restaurant until her late 70s and was a devout Catholic.

She built up a large circle of friends in the Blackpool area and enjoyed playing cards at the Paris Casino, quiz programmes and Irish music, especially Daniel O’Donnell.

She leaves a brother Tom, daughters Christine, Maria and Judith, son Anthony, son-in-law Robin, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Christopher.

Father Bernard Woods conducted Requiem Mass at St Margaret Clitherow Church, Blackpool, before burial at Accrington Cemetery.
