Jack Whittaker

A MAN who used to own and race greyhounds, Mr Jack Whittaker, has died at his home in Hudson Street, Accrington, aged 78.

Mr Whittaker was employed as a toolmaker at Howard and Bullough and then worked as a fitter at Allspeeds, Clayton-le-Moors, before taking early retirement.

He loved all sports and latterly enjoyed watching them on TV.

He leaves brothers Kenneth and Colin, sister-in-law Maureen, nieces Adele and Laura and cousins Bessie, Susan and Charles.

The funeral will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Monday.
