Ruth Robinson

16/ 5/2008

FORMER hairdresser Miss Ruth Robinson has died in Addison Court Nursing Home, Accrington, aged 94.

Born in Padiham, she was very close to her sister Dorothy.

The two both had piano qualifications and often used to play together.

When she was younger Miss Robinson used to annoy her more ladylike sister by playing football and was also fond of boys and had to be kept in line.

The sisters lived on a farm and neither married.

Miss Robinson studied at Accrington Grammar School and travelled into Accrington by train until buses became available.

She said she had a loving family, although money was short at times.

When she started work she enjoyed her first holidays, visiting France and Spain.

The Rev Geoffrey Townsend will conduct the funeral at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday.

Arrangements: Hyndburn Funeral Services.
