Gordon Dobson

MR GORDON Dobson, who originally lived in Water Street, Great Harwood, has died in Canada at the age of 80.
Mr Dobson, who lived in Ajax, attended St Bartholomew’s School and was a choirboy at the church.
He worked at Great Harwood Co-op and after doing his National Service emigrated to Canada in 1954.
He worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines and returned to England on regular visits.
He enjoyed darts, snooker, dominoes and cribbage and was the owner of family pet dog, Bandit.
Married to his wife Irene for 55 years, he also leaves a daughter Denise and son-in-law Gord.
He was cremated in Canada on 10 June after a service at St John’s Anglican Church, Whitby.
