John Gilmartin

FATHER Seamus Quigley will celebrate Requiem Mass at St Paul’s Church, Accrington, on Tuesday 24 June for Mr John Gilmartin who has died at Henley House Residential Home, Whalley Road, Accrington, at the age of 83.
The husband of the late Winifred, he worked throughout his life for the National Coal Board at Hapton Valley, Huncoat and Scaitcliffe mines.
A member of Bold Street WMC, he was connected with St Anne’s RC Church, Accrington, and was a keen snooker player. He also enjoyed socialising, reading, crosswords and playing dominoes before going blind seven years ago.
He leaves a son John, daughter Marie, son-in-law George, granddaughter Emma and sister Joan.
