Douglas Fox

FORMER chef Mr Douglas (Dougie) Fox, of Cedar Street, Accrington, has died in the Royal Preston Hospital aged 45.

The partner of Wendy, he went to catering college on leaving school and trained as a chef, working at Mytton Fold Farm, the Spread Eagle at Sawley and the Copy Nook at Bolton-by-Bowland.

After a number of years he went on to become a storeman at Holland’s Pies, Baxenden, where he remained for more than 10 years.

A committee member at Canine WMC, he enjoyed snooker, pool, golf, football, decorating and DIY, and had a pet dog, Max.

The son of Clarice and the late Edward, he leaves children Paula, Mark and Benjamin and was also a grandad, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.

He was buried at Accrington on Wednesday 18 June following a humanist service conducted by Mr Edward Joyce at the crematorium chapel.
