Lilian Counsell

AN ACTIVE member in her younger days of the Mothers’ Union at St James Church, Clayton-le-Moors, has died at the age of 84.
Mrs Lilian Edith Counsell, who died at Greycroft, Queens Road, Accrington, had also helped out at the church’s Sunday School when her children were young.
The wife of the late James, she was born in Stoke-on-Trent, moving to Clayton-le-Moors in the 1940s. She worked as a weaver at Spanyards and retired from Tie Trade Services in Colne.
A member of the Royal Dance Club and Clayton-le-Moors Conservative Club, Mrs Counsell leaves children Neil and Patricia, Graham and Janice, grandchildren Paul, Davina, Barry, Jode, Chris, Sharon and Victoria and great grandchildren Brandon, Danielle, Mackenzie, Josh and Connor.
She was due to be cremated at Accrington on Thursday 26 June following a service conducted by the Rev John Tranter.
