James Wallace

A FITTER in the engineering industry Mr James (Jimmy) Wallace of Juniper Court, Huncoat, has died aged 71 in the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The husband of the late Rose-Ann, he started working at Hendron Brothers Engineering in his native Belfast before moving to Vickers Armstrong shipbuilders in Barrow-in-Furness for several years before joining the Merchant Navy as a fitter. He finally worked up to his retirement at Howard and Bullough in Accrington.

A member of Canine WMC, Accrington, and a former member of Sacred Heart Church, he liked watching football and boxing on TV, having a flutter on the horses and socialising with friends.

He leaves children Jim and Sean, stepchildren Ann, June and Peter and was a grandad, brother and father-in-law.

He will be cremated at Accrington on Friday 27 June following a service conducted by Father Seamus Quigley.
