Maude Hartley

FATHER David Lyon will conduct a funeral service for Mrs Maude Elizabeth Hartley at St Peter’s Church, Accrington, on Monday 21 July, followed by cremation at Accrington.
Mrs Hartley, of Addison Court Nursing Home and formerly of Willows Lane, Acrington, died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital at the age of 82.
She moved to Accrington from the Midlands when she was 21 on her marriage to late husband Stan.
In her younger days she worked as a tailoress in the Midlands at the Swallow Raincoat factory and at various hospital kitchens in the area. Her last job up to her retirement was as a clerical assistant in the tax office in Accrington.
Before her husband died they went dancing regularly, both in Accrington and the Midlands. She enjoyed gardening and while her husband was still alive they enjoyed holidays abroad, especially in Italy and Spain.
She leaves sisters Margaret and Ann, brother-in-law James and her late husband’s family of Joan, Geoff and David. She was also aunt to Tracy and Elizabeth.
