Jean Howson Smith

DOG-LOVER Mrs Jean Howson Smith has died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital aged 85.

Mrs Smith, formerly of Fielding Street, Rishton, worked at Clayton Laundry during the war and then at English Electric, later to become GEC, in Clayton-le-Moors, where she was a clerical worker for 26 years.

She had three dogs during her lifetime and her other hobbies including reading romance and crime books.

She leaves her son Alan, brother John, nephews Graham and Steven and grandchildren Danielle, Leighton, Julieanne and Edward.

The Rev Wilf Robinson conducted the funeral at Accrington Crematorium on Friday 25 July.
