Madaline Wilkinson

MRS Madaline Taylor Wilkinson of Aspen Lane, Oswaldtwistle, has died suddenly aged 61 in the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

She and her husband Ken would have celebrated their ruby wedding anniversary later this year, and they would also have celebrated their 62nd birthdays on the same day.

Regarded as one of the kindest and most well-liked people in the community, she served over 20 years as a welfare worker at West End Primary School but had to take early retirement after suffering two long-term illnesses.

She kept fighting on to be a devoted granny to her grandchildren Ethan, Denby, Kelsey and Kane.

She enjoyed family holidays to Spain with the youngsters four times a year, enjoying life to the full, and was always bubbly, smiling and had a good word for everyone.

Mrs Wilkinson also leaves her parents Elsie and Walter and children Mark, Lyndsey and Nicola.

She was cremated at Accrington on Thursday 31 July following a funeral service at West End Methodist Church, Oswaldtwistle, conducted by the Rev Christine Leech.
