FORMER model Mrs June Kelly has died in hospital aged 71.
Mrs Kelly, of Garfield Street, Accrington, went to Lucy Clayton’s Modelling School in Manchester and became the face of Miss Camay Soap in 1961-62.
She later worked as a food supervisor for Marks and Spencer and then became an area manager for a shoe company in Leeds, a role in which she travelled extensively.
From 1979 to 1989 she ran a grocer’s business on Plantation Street, Accrington, which took her up to retirement.
She leaves her husband John, daughter Marcia, son-in-law John, grandchildren John, Shannon and Amber and a brother George.
She was a member of Peel Street Baptist Church, Accrington, where Pastor David Bordle conducted a funeral service on Friday 1 August before cremation at Accrington.
