Alice Boothman

A LIFELONG member of Holy Trinity Church, Oswaldtwistle, where she was a member of the choir, Mrs Alice Boothman, has died at the age of 94.

Devoted to her family, Mrs Boothman lived in Church View Residential Home and formerly in Roe Greave Road and Trinity Street, Oswaldtwistle.

The wife of the late Fred Boothman, she was born in Blythe Bridge, Staffs.

She started work at the Foxhall pub in Oswaldtwistle and after raising a family she worked at Ewbank in Accrington, latterly as a clerk.

After her retirement she carried on singing in church concerts and at pensioners’ centres.

She leaves children Fred, Mary, Barry and Angela, daughters-in-law, Melva and Val, sons-in-law Harry and Tim, grandchildren Steven, Alison, Mark, Samantha, Chris, Colin and Karen, great-grandchildren Liam, Ryan, Gemma, Jessica, Adam Ruby, Grace, Will, Oli, and Jamar, and great-great-grandchildren Jude, Maddy and Eva.

A funeral service took place at Immanuel Church,Oswaldtwistle, on Friday 22 August followed by burial in the churchyard.
