Irene Southwell

MRS Irene Southwell of Appleby Close, Accrington, has died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital aged 86.
Mrs Southwell, who started work as a weaver at the age of 14, finished her working life as a canteen assistant and school dinner assistant.
She enjoyed gardening and was devoted to her grandchildren and family.
She was cremated at Accrington on Wednesday 1 October following a service conducted by the Rev Ken Fitzsimmons.
The wife of the late Edward, Mrs Southwell leaves sons Paul, Tony and Timothy and daughter Barbara. She was also a mother-in-law and grandma to Stephen, Nicholas, Robert, Jon and Samuel.
