Frank White
13/10/2008
A MAN plagued with ill health has died aged 47, four months after the death of his mother.
Mr Frank White, a former resident of Accrington and pupil of Holy Family RC Secondary School, died on 29 September in Blackpool where he lived.
The partner of Carol and the son of Michael and the late Marjorie, he worked at Wills Fabrics, Oswaldtwistle, before moving to the resort.
He had many talents, including gardening, woodwork and socialising. In 2007 he won a Best Kept Garden award for his interesting and colourful design skills. And although he was beset by ill health, he used his talents to help others, often gardening for the elderly in his local community.
He also had a passion for working with wood that evolved from his bird box and chess board projects at school.
An Elvis fan and devotee of popular music, he focused all his attention on his extended family and friends, often inviting everyone to his house for an Elvis barbie, Elvis karaoke or a brew.
A generous and friendly man liked by all, he loved Christmas and ensured that his neighbours would love Christmas too. His fabulous array of Christmas lights and decorative figures ensured that the community shared his passion for life.
A stepfather, brother and uncle, Mr White was cremated at Carleton followed by a get-together at the Welcome pub in Blackpool.
