Jessie Gorton

A WOMAN who visited the USA on many occasions to see her sister has died aged 91 in Springhill Care Home, Accrington.
Mrs Jessie Gorton, of Spencer Street, Accrington, had toured many places in the States, including the White House and Empire State Building.
In her younger days she was employed at Ewbank (Prestige) and was a member of the Brooks Club, Accrington.
The wife of the late Harold, she leaves children Brenda, Anne and Christine, sons-in-law David, Geoff and Len, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Ada who lives in America and was also an aunt.
She will be cremated at Accrington on Tuesday 4 November following a service conducted by the Rev Gerald Higham.
