Harold Taylor

A MAN who emigrated to South Africa where he raised his family has died at Burnley General Hospital at the age of 76.
Mr Harold Taylor, of Belvedere Care Home, Wellington Street, Accrington, was the husband of the late Pauline, with whom he lived first in Rhodesia and later in Johannesberg. He worked for Rothwells Engineers in Church where he served his time as a fabricator. He remained at Rothwell’s for many years before emigrating and continuing in the same line of work.
A former freemason, he had attended St Anne’s Church, Accrington, in his younger days and had also been wicketkeeper at Rishton cricket club. Mr Taylor was also interested in dogs, particularly German shepherds.
The father of Craig and Jackie, he was also the brother of Joyce and had many nieces and nephews.
He was cremated at Accrington on Wednesday 12 November following a service conducted by the Rev Ken Fitzsimmons.
