MRS Alice Hothersall of Kirk House, Tanpits Road, Church, has died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital aged 86.
The wife of the late Harry, she worked as a canteen assistant at Altham pit during the war and then as a laundry worker at Clayton Laundry. Mrs Hothersall then went to be a cleaner at Alfred Houghton’s chiropodists.
In her younger days she was a member of St Andrew’s Church, and as a keen cook she loved baking for all her family. She also enjoyed watching TV.
She leaves children Harry and Jean, son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Kate and Jennifer, grandchildren Amanda, Tony and Sonya and great-grandchildren Caitlin, Stephen, Tonicha and Taylor.
She will be cremated at Accrington on Monday following a service conducted by the Rev Ken Fitzsimmons.
