Grace Edmondson

TALENTED artist and seamstress Mrs Grace Edmondson has died in Hope House Nursing Home, Clayton-le-Moors, aged 86.
Mrs Edmondson, of Swinburne Close, Baxenden, worked at Highams Mill after leaving school and was a telephonist in the fire service during the Second World War.
She then worked as a telephonist at Howard and Bullough before working as a seamstress at Burton’s menswear shop in Accrington.
She was a member of Cambridge Street Methodist Church, Accrington, and its Regnal League, and also attended St John’s Church in Baxenden.
The wife of the late Jim, she leaves a son David, daughter Sue, grandchildren Claire, Craig, Philip and Andrew and great-grandson Conor.
The Rev Christine Leech will conduct a funeral service at Cambridge Street today (Friday) before cremation at Accrington.
