Allan Pilkington

FORMER dairy farmer and old folk’s home owner Mr Allan Pilkington has died in the Royal Blackburn Hospital aged 87.

Mr Pilkington, of Pine Crescent, Oswaldtwistle, was a dairy farmer in Green Haworth before buying and running Park View Home for the Elderly in Clayton-le-Moors.

He retired to Spain for five years before returning and settling in Oswaldtwistle.

He was a member of the Free-masons’ Eastwood Lodge in Todmorden until his death.

A member of Holy Trinity Church, Oswaldtwistle, where he and his wife Olga had their marriage blessed eight years ago, he was also a former chairman of the National Farmers’ Union.

As well as his wife, he leaves his son Les, daughter Pat, daughter-in-law Beryl, son-in-law Donald and grandchildren Brett, Victoria, Adele and Ian.

The Rev John Taylor will conduct a service in Holy Trinity Church on Monday before cremation at Accrington.
