CARE assistant Mrs Beryl Fenwick, of Highfield Hall Nursing Home, Haslingden, and formerly of Baxenden, has died at home, aged 78.

Mrs Fenwick worked at Hill Top Nursing Home, Accrington, for over 20 years.

She was a member of Poplar Club, Accrington, where she went dancing with her late husband Ronald.

She was also former ladies captain and member of Baxenden Golf Club.

She leaves son Graham, daughter Karen, son-in-law Colin, daughter-in-law Georgia, and grandsons Liam and Ryan.

Her funeral was held yesterday (Thursday) when the Rev Canon Roger Smith conducted a service at The Pleasant Chapel of Rest followed by cremation at Accrington.
