Three students have raised over £70 for The Christie charity after shaving their hair off.

Bayley Redhead, Ben Griffin and Thomas Pilkington, all pupils from form 7VG at Rhyddings in Oswaldtwistle, were sponsored to lose their locks by family, staff and classmates as part of a school fundraising drive.

On hand with the clippers was local TV celebrity ‘Sunbed’ Jonny Kemp, well known locally for his appearances on Total Wipe Out and Come Dine With Me, at his Arena salon on Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.

The boys said: “All of our form felt that Christie’s is a really good charity and we wanted to raise as much money as possible. Losing our hair is worth it.”

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist hospital based in Manchester which is mainly concerned in the treatment of cancer and associated diseases.
