POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a knifepoint robbery.

The victim, a 22-year-old Accrington man, was approached by two men who threatened him with a knife and demanded money.

They stole a small quantity of cash before running away from the scene.

The incident happened at around midday on Thursday, March 28 on the black path behind the Tesco store.

Detective Sergeant Julie Cross from Accrington CID has appealed to witnesses for information.

She said: “Fortunately the victim was not hurt but the people responsible need to be arrested and brought to justice.”

The first man, who was holding the knife, is described as white and around 19 years old with an average build and light brown hair.

He was wearing dark blue jeans tucked into white socks with dark shoes or boots and a black top or jacket.

The second man was described as white, aged around 24 and 6 foot tall with an average build and light brown hair, short back and sides with a v shape.

He was wearing light grey tracksuit top and bottoms and dark footwear.
