An angry learner driver abused his driving examiner and instructor during a test and then chased after him down the street.

Antony Alltree, of Somerset Grove, Accrington, reacted after the instructor slammed on the dual control brakes at a roundabout.

The 25-year-old then ‘became abusive’ to the examiner and instructor before getting out of the car and threatening them.

Alltree then chased after the car on foot as they drove back to the driving school on Cobden Street in Nelson leaving him behind.

When Alltree arrived at the DVSA centre he started banging on the doors.

Police were called to the centre at around 9am on February 2 this year to reports of Alltree ‘knocking and kicking on the doors’.

Alltree pleaded guilty at Burnley Magistrates Court to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards the driving examiner and instructor.

He was given a two-year community order with a 35-day programme requirement and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Alltree was also ordered to pay £50 compensation and pay £85 costs.
