An investigation has been launched after arsonists set fire to a primary school building.

Police and firefighters from Hyndburn were called to Moor End primary school on White Ash Lane in Oswaldtwistle after youths climbed over a school fence and set fire to a bin inside an outbuilding.

A Hyndburn Fire Station spokesperson said the structure was left ‘badly damaged’ and a joint investigation with police is now under way.

A bin was set on fire in an outbuilding at Moor End primary school in Oswaldtwistle.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm on Sunday, November 8 and no injuries were reported.
