A fight involving four men broke out on a quiet street in broad daylight.

Detectives said the “large scale” disturbance happened following a dispute between two Asian families.

Scores of onlookers watched as the brawl took place on Perth Street in Accrington at around 3.30pm on Friday, August 9.

An18-year-old and 47-year-old, both men, were taken to hospital with minor injuries but were later discharged.

Two men, aged 38 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of public order offences, following the fight.

Detective Inspector Jill Johnston said: "We believe there were four men fighting. It was a large scale disturbance involving Asian males. It appears to be a dispute between two families. The streets were filled with onlookers. A lot of people must have seen what happened. Both of the men arrested have been released on police bail pending further enquiries. We would urge any witnesses to come forward and contact police on 101."
