Firefighters were called to a supermarket car park after a car hit a fence.

Crews from Hyndburn and Great Harwood attended the Aldi store car park, on Heys Lane in Great Harwood, following the incident at around 12noon on Monday, October 24.

A Great Harwood fire station spokesperson said: “A car left the road and collided with a fence.

“No-one was trapped in the vehicle, but police at the scene requested firefighter assistance to deal with a possible fire.

“Firefighters used a winch to haul the car back onto the road and ensured there were no remaining hazards in respect of fire, fuel or oil spillages or debris.”

Lancashire Police said the vehicle involved was a green Volkswagen Polo and no arrests have been made.
