A semi-professional footballer from Accrington who was caught having sex with a fan in the dugout of a football ground has gained an overnight Twitter following - but his girlfriend is less than impressed.

Clitheroe FC striker Jay Hart, who was caught out at Mossley AFC’s ground at the weekend in a compromising position, found himself with more than 70 new followers on the social media site.

It is fair to say his girlfriend was not one of them after she kicked the player out of their home, reports the Daily Mirror.

The dad-of-two, who is now living back with his mum, has also been sacked from his team as his drunken rendezvous was caught on camera while he was wearing his team tracksuit.

After phone footage of his dalliance went viral, the 24-year-old tweeted: “Woke up still p****d with 70 new followers. Today is going to be a long day.”

And after being given the boot by the Evo-Stik Division 1 North side, Hart said: “I’d had a couple of drinks. I was away from everyone and thought I was hidden.”

The 24-year-old’s antics came after a 4-1 defeat to the home team, which was hosting Ladies’ Day in the hope of attracting more female fans to Mossley’s Seel park ground.

The face of the female supporter in the video cannot be seen but Hart can be heard laughing and is seen with his tracksuit bottoms around his ankles.

Hart, formerly at Blackburn Rovers’ academy, insisted he did not know who his dugout lover was.

He added: “It was just a woman from Mossley. It was ‘Ladies Day.’”

Clitheroe manager Simon Garner said: “Unfortunately, Jason was wearing the club’s tracksuit and he knows he has let the club down.”

Clitheroe chairwoman Anne Barker said the player had ‘brought the club into disrepute’.

She said: “I can’t have somebody wearing the Clitheroe FC tracksuit bringing us down.

“It has brought the club into disrepute and it’s not proper for him to scupper our reputation. I expect our players to act professionally.

“It was brought to my attention on Saturday night and dealt with through the management. I did offer to speak to him myself but Simon (Garner, the manager) said he would take care of it.”

Clitheroe boss Simon Garner has also told Hart to return his club tracksuit.
