Music and beer lovers descended on a pub for a three-day festival.

Hundreds of people enjoyed the sunshine and a mixture of local ales and bands at the Forts Arms in Clayton-le-Moors.

The ‘PAC Weekender’ ran from Friday to Sunday and featured around 20 music acts, 20 local real ales, an arts and crafts exhibition and poetry recitals.

Barry Marshall, landlord of the Forts Arms, said it was ‘tremendously successful’.

He said: “It was a fantastic weekend and went even better than I expected. I sold out of beer by Sunday and everyone had a good time.

“A lot of people at the Mercer Park centenary on Sunday also visited us too, which was great.

“The place was choc-a-bloc and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was great for the whole weekend.

“We had some good local bands playing and more established acts and they were all brilliant.

“There was a really good mix of music from folk to hard core rock.

“It was the first one I have done here since I started in January and we are going to do another one in October.

"We have had great support from lots of people.”
