Cases heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:

Samuel Foden Higham, 26, of Wordsworth Close, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was given a 12-month community order with a six-month alcohol treatment requirement and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £50, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge and disqualified from driving for 48 months, reduced by 48 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

Daniel Thomas Pedigrew, 31, of Station Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to taking a Mercedes Van without the owner’s consent and using a vehicle without insurance. He was given a 12-month community order with 150 hours’ unpaid work, ordered to pay £200 compensation and a £180 criminal courts charge.

Ryan Seward, 22, of School Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was given a 12-month community order with 40 hours’ unpaid work and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Nathan James Walker, 25, of HMP Forest Bank, pleaded guilty to five counts of theft and while subject to a suspended sentence order. He was jailed for a total of 46 weeks and ordered to pay a £180 criminal courts charge.

Mohammed Shafiq, 37, of Higher Antley Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was given a six-month conditional discharge order and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Afzal Ahmed, 39, of Park Road, Accrington, was found guilty of using a car without insurance. He was fined £180, ordered to pay £620 costs and given eight points on his driving licence.

Richard Francis Murphy, 54, of Bold Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and while subject to a community order. He was given a new 12-month community order with a 20-day specified activity requirement, a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £100 and ordered to pay £200 costs and a £180 criminal courts charge.

Samantha Ainsworth, 36, of Platt Close, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Parveen Akhtar, 45, of Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Robin Atkinson, 31, of Wellington Street, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Rosemary Birtwistle, 53, of Garden Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Carrie Paterson, 29, of Maudsley Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Richard Sutton, 34, of Blackburn Road, Rising Bridge, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Gemma Wrightson, 27, of Lancaster Drive, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to using a television without a licence. She was fined £40 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Teresa Walmsley, 52, of Elizabeth Street, Accrington, was found guilty in her absence of driving without due care and attention. She was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Curtis James Greenfield, 23, of Lancaster Avenue, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Richard Hemingway, 32, of Turkey Street, Accrington, was found guilty in his absence of using a television without a licence. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Jade Hudson, 23, of Clarke Street, Rishton, was found guilty in her absence of using a television without a licence.

Tracey Flood, 52, of Bignold Fold, Norwich, was found guilty in her absence of travelling on a railway from Leeds to Accrington without having previously paid the fare and with intent to avoid payment. She was fined £440 and ordered to pay £16.20 compensation, £150 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Shabina Nawaz, 34, of Kingston Avenue, Accrington, pleaded guilty to being the parent of a child of compulsory school age who failed to attend school regularly. She was fined £80 and ordered to pay £50 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Adam Porter, 25, of Olive Lane, Darwen, pleaded guilty to criminal damage in Accrington and failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. He was given a 12-month community order with a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement, a 12-month restraining order and ordered to pay £100 compensation and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Nathan William Shaw, 28, of Canal Street, Church, pleaded guilty to harassment.

He was given a 12-month community order with a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement, a 12-month restraining order, fined £20 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.

Kathleen Herdman, 39, of Richmond Avenue, Accrington, was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver to police.

He was fined £25, ordered to pay £50 costs and given six points on his driving licence.
