Cases heard at Blackburn Magistrates Court:

  • Peter David Singleton, 35, of Barnes Street, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath. He was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 18 months.
  • Susan Margaret Trickett, 61, of Turnpike Grove, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to drink- driving. She was fined £207, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
  • Zohaib Waheed, 23, of Halliwell Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to driving in Accrington without a licence, driving without due care and attention and using a car without insurance. He was fined £200, ordered to pay £85 costs and given six points on his driving licence.
  • Michael Edwards, 42, of Blackburn Road, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
  • Matthew Paul Volkert, 27, of Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to assault. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 costs.
  • Rachael Elizabeth Crawshaw, 41, of Spring Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to shoplifting from Marks and Spencers. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
  • Richard Anthony Whittaker, 41, of Spindle Berry Court, Accrington, pleaded guilty to shoplifting at Tesco and while subject to a conditional discharge order. He was given a nine-month community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and fined £80.
  • Marie Louise Pervaiz, 54, of Norfolk Grove, Church, was found guilty of being the parent of a child who failed to attend the school regularly. She was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 costs.
  • Adam Clarke, 34, of Tinker Brook Close, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to assault. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £150 costs.
  • Ryan James Walsh, 23, of Barn Meadow Lane, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to assault. He was given a nine-month community order with a 21-hour attendance centre requirement and ordered to pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.
  • Daniel John Beardmore, 19, of James Street, Great Harwood, was found guilty of two counts of assault. He was given an 18-month community order with 200 hours’ unpaid work, a restraining order and ordered to pay £200 compensation and £300 costs.
  • James Barnes, 50, of Wellington Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage, assaulting a police officer, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and breaching a restraining order. He was given an eight-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months with a supervision and 50-day rehabilitation activity requirement, ordered to pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.
  • Corey Nathan Ashe, 20, of Parliament Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
  • John Crabtree, 63, of Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded guilty to shoplifting from Marks and Spencers. He was given a six-month conditional discharge.

  • Zain Ahmed, 22, of St Huberts Street, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving without a licence and using a car without insurance. He was given a 12-month community order with 80 hours’ unpaid work, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualified from driving for two years.
