Accrington school teachers' Gangnam Style video is YouTube hit

School teachers have become an internet sensation with their own version of the cult hit single Gangnam Style.

School teachers have become an internet sensation with their own version of the cult hit single Gangnam Style.

More than 3,300 people have watched the spoof video showing staff at Mount Carmel High School in Accrington dancing to the Korean pop song.

The video features dozens of staff, including headteacher Xavier Bowers, dancing in offices, classrooms and corridors and in front of surprised pupils.

It also shows three male staff members at the Catholic school dressed only in towels in the changing rooms.

The YouTube video, called Gangnam Final, warns viewers that they will "never see our staff again in the same light!"

School bosses said the video was shown to all pupils on the last day of term before Christmas, leaving youngsters "in tears of laughter".

However Tory councillor Peter Britcliffe raised concerns that scenes depicting staff dancing wearing only a towel sent out the wrong message.

He said: "I'm not a killjoy and generally it's quite good fun.

"But there's one or two bits that don't create the respect that needs to be fostered between teachers and pupils."

Sue Fielding, partnership manager at the school, dismissed the criticism, claiming the video was "just a bit of fun".
