Armed police and a helicopter have chased a vehicle through Accrington after it was reported stolen in a burglary.

Officers from the Armed Response Unit spotted the Ford Ka on Queens Road West at around 3.30am on Wednesday, September 23 and chased after it.

Police said they followed it over a railway bridge near Horne Street before finding the car abandoned in the Marlborough Road area.

The vehicle had been reported stolen following a burglary in Accrington earlier this month.

Two men, aged 21 and 22, from Accrington, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody.
