A Duke of Edinburgh Awards presentation night has been held at Hollins Technology College in Accrington.

The inaugural awards night was organised to celebrate the success of pupils who have achieved their Bronze Award.

Sarah Ginn, of the school, said each pupil worked hard to complete activities in each of the four sections.

She said: “The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a nationally recognised scheme that gives participants a range of skills which are highly sought after by both colleges and employers alike.

“We are extremely proud of our successful students and are delighted to showcase their success. “Mr Edmondson presented the awards along with the headteacher Mr Campbell.

"They both commented how they had made lifelong friends when they did the awards when they were younger and have fond memories of the time.”
