BENTLEY Ribble Valley is set to relaunch its dealership by removing its Bentley franchise and building a new Internet-based business.
Bosses at the Rishton-based car sales company say they are implementing the changes to embrace a national trend towards more environmentally-friendly motoring.
The firm, which will start to sell a wider range of models within the next few weeks, will continue to stock used Bentleys.
Bosses are also on the verge of launching a brand-new Internet-based business named www.ukcarzone.co.uk.
Paul Piert, managing director of Ribble Valley Motors, said: "We are changing our focus. We want to develop the business to give it a far broader appeal.
"Many consumers are looking for cars that are more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly, something the luxury car market doesn’t always cater for.
"Our Rishton base will remain a traditional car retailing outlet and we will continue to stock nearly-new Bentleys but we will also offer far greater choice.
"These developments reflect the changing world we live in.
"Customers’ tastes are changing and there is far greater emphasis on fuel economy and environmentally-friendly motoring. This restructuring will allow us to cater for that new business."
He added existing customers would not notice any changes, saying: "We will be based at the same place and the same people will still be involved.
"We will simply be offering a much wider choice of vehicles."
The company says it has been looking at the move for several months and a proposed move to Preston has temporarily been put on hold while the development is still being discussed.
