Burglars tried to steal a crate of milk bottles from a farm in Rishton.

Police said they entered the grounds of the farm off Wilpshire Road between Wednesday, April 20 and Thursday, April 21 and removed a crate containing full plastic milk bottles from an outbuilding.

The crate was later found abandoned a short distance away. PC Tony Walsh said it was ‘presumably due to the weight of the full crate’.
