Detectives are appealing for information after a car and house were damaged in an arson attack in Accrington.

Police and firefighters were called out to a red Mazda on fire outside a house on Countess Street shortly before 1am on Monday (June 21).

Extensive damage was caused to the car along with the front door and front downstairs window of the house.

No-one was injured although there were two men in the house at the time.

DI Mark Vaughton from Accrington CID said: "Enquiries continue and I appeal to anyone with information to come forward."
