A ‘clown around’ bus arrived at Clayton and Altham Children’s Centre to entertain the children during half-term.

Around 50 youngsters, parents and carers attended the circus fun day at the centre on Arthur Street, Clayton-le-Moors.

The double-decker bus was kitted out with slides and a ball pool and other activities included face painting and arts and crafts.

Members of Bury Football Club Community Trust also came along for the day to teach the children circus skills.

Centre manager Tim Grose said: “They really enjoyed it and there was different things to do all day.

“Everybody had a cracking day and it had an arts and crafts theme.

“We like to do these one-off events at holiday times and we got a lot of really good feedback from everyone.”

The centre was previously sited at Mount Pleasant Primary School before relocating to civic centre basement offices on Arthur Street in July last year.

The facility includes a community training room, a creche area, health clinic and office space.
