A coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support has raised nearly £120.

The event was organised by residents who live at Accrington Crossroads on Empress Street, run by the Salvation Army.

The coffee morning was also attended by Hyndburn MP Graham Jones, Church councillor Joan Smith and prospective Labour candidate for Church, Lorraine Cox.

Coun Smith said: “I was very pleased to be invited to the coffee and cake day.

“It is always a great pleasure to visit Crossroads and to meet the young residents.

“The display of cakes that these young people had made was awesome.

“I am really pleased that they raised £117.86.”
