Fearless staff from Accrington and Rossendale College took on the gruelling Tough Midder challenge for charity.

Twelve employees completed the 10-mile obstacle race to raise money for local charity Papyris, which works to prevent suicide in young people.

After weeks of training, the team took on the endurance test and faced a variety of obstacles including ‘Electroshock Therapy’, the ‘Cage Crawl’ and the ‘Sewer Rat’.

Team member Wesley Evans said it was a ‘great success and an amazing experience’, although some of them were left nursing injuries.

He said: “It was extremely challenging, in ways we never expected, and we each had our particular parts that we found especially difficult.

“What really made the difference was the team and how we all helped.”
