A WIDOW who thought she would never love again when her husband died after just 10 months of marriage is set to re-marry on Valentine's Day.

Care assistant Heather Slevin, 45, was devastated when her husband Ged died of a heart attack in April 2003.

She thought her dreams of happiness had gone forever, but nearly two years after her "nightmare" she will walk down the aisle to marry Romanian Biju Bulea, 28, whom she met on holiday in Benidorm.

Heather, of Lincoln Court, Church, said her temperature rose when she saw Biju, who was working as a joiner at her hotel. She said: "I'm over the moon because I really thought I'd had my share of love. It's hard to believe I have another chance so soon after Ged because he was a good man. I felt robbed when he died.

"At the funeral his mum told me to get on with my life. I had stopped going out and was miserable. I went on holiday for a break and never expected to find love. But it happened in such a wonderful way."

After many moments of eyes meeting across crowded rooms, Biju left his phone number under Heather's hotel door on a card addressed to "The beautiful lady".

When they eventually spoke Heather was back in England, but they clicked and fell in love. So much so they talked on the phone for hours every day, with Biju keeping a "diary of love", containing their conversations and how long they spoke for.

He said: "I knew I wanted to marry her when I saw her. After six months we agreed to meet again at the hotel and I proposed on her birthday. I've kept all the messages she sent and many things from our times together, she is so special."

The lovers plan to honeymoon back at their Benidorm hotel after the wedding at Accrington Register Office.
