THE driver of a council bin wagon which knocked down and killed a pensioner earlier this year has appeared before Hyndburn magistrates.
Kevin Slattery, 52, of Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, was charged with driving without due care and attention.
Jean Eastwood, 65, of Eachill Gardens, Rishton was crossing an alleyway near a car showroom off Harwood Road in May when she was in collision with the reversing lorry.
The case was adjourned until 14 December and Slattery was granted bail.
