More than 30 girls entered the competition to be crowned the Accrington Lions Carnival Princess.

Ellie Walsh was crowned the new Carnival Princess for 2015, Olivia Layla Chadwick was second and Emily Rose Hughes was third in the competition at Oswaldtwistle Mills on Saturday, May 30.

Guests included newly crowned Carnival Queen Bethany Donohue, the previous Carnival Princess Dolcie Power and a special visit by Disney Princess Elsa from Frozen.

The competition was open to girls aged between six and 11 who live in Hyndburn.

An Accrington Lions spokesman said: “A huge thank you to all the contestants, organisers and sponsors who got involved.”

The Accrington Lions Carnival will be held on Saturday, June 13 at King George Playing Fields from 11am to 5pm.

The free event includes a fairytale and fantasy procession through the town, live music through the decades, The Tigers parachute display team, and viking re-enactment.
