Firefighters helped a four-year-old boy after he got locked in a car in Accrington.

Crew manager Rob Birtwistle said the youngster was strapped into a child seat in the back when they arrived and the keys were in the front of the locked car.

He said the incident on First Avenue happened at around 3pm on Saturday, September 29

He added: "The fire service gained access with hand tools and a improvised hook using a wire coat hanger. The keys were hooked and passed to the child who managed to open the door using the keys."
