A funeral directors in Clayton-le-Moors has drawn the winner of its charity annual Easter competition.

Youngsters from across the borough up to the age of 11 were challened by L Champ Funeral Services on Whalley Road to design and draw a ‘beautiful and colourful’ Easter-themed picture.

Hassan Ali, a class four pupil at Springhill Primary School in Accrington, was named the winner and has now had his drawing blown up and put on display in the window of the funeral directors. Blackburn Rovers footballer David Dunn also presented Hassan with an ‘Easter basket of goodies’.

Lianna Champ said they have donated £475 to Derian House Children’s Hospice and £175 to Dunn’s charity STREETS which helps youngsters.
